Our Story
Rocket World was founded in 2001 by artist and designer Patrick York Ma. Melding his love for animals, character design and underscored by his dissatisfaction with the current natural world order, Rocket World burst onto the nascent collectable “Designer Vinyl” scene in 2002 with the property I.nsurgents W.ilderness G.ruppo. Conceived in Patrick's sketch book on a Xmas day flight to London in 2000; the I.W.G. are a feisty and rebellious underground group of self-aware animals who were given sentience by a group of mysterious alien beings. The I.W.G. have organized and taken up arms to fight against any humans that have killed, exploited their kind and/or polluted their habitats. The I.W.G. are cute yet decidedly deadly, and their narrative can be described as Che meets Animal Farm with a dash of pulp science fiction thrown in for good measure.

Our Mission
Rocket World is a designer brand that produces functional, indie-lifestyle apparel, collectibles and art for mischievous do-gooders around the world. Rocket World demonstrates a commitment to wildlife conservation through its design philosophy and by donating a portion of all sales to select non-profit wildlife conservations groups.

BULLETT Hannibal features a silhouette of Hannibal in the movie poster pose from the 1968 classic police and crime thriller BULLITT.  Stylistic and on a Mid-Century Modern style color block ground, the cool swagger of Affonso's stance is clearly reflected in an IWG homage to the film legend Steve McQueen.

Rocket World Diner is almost an obligatory homage and iteration  of the well known Hopper painting Nighthawks.  This version of our illustration is actually the 2nd version.  It is the custom, in house printed version and features the newest generation of the IWG gang.  A new classic for us and one of the best all time selling prints from Rocket World.

The Last Bloody Polar Bear features Peary hunting evil humans in his arctic home.  This illustration is from a bird's eye perspective as Peary is looking up at the viewer.  Rocket World giclees  with Peary the Bloody Polar Bear are some of our most requested and popular with collectors.

IWG Icons features the 3 founding members of the IWG, some of the favorite weapons of choice and their modes of transport to get to their areas of operation.  Clean silhouettes for each motif in this illustration creates  a series of distinct icons representing the IWG in their purest forms.

Dirty Affonso features a silhouette of Affonso in a slight crouch and an exaggerated perspective of his .44 magnum revolver.  Inspired by one of the most recognized movie poster scenes and memorable characters from the decade of the anti-hero, the 1970's.  A color block ground, stylistic and with strong colors, this illustration of Affonso leaves a definite impact on any viewer.

IWG Baby Cubs Campfire features baby Ares and baby Ginga on one of the their very first camping trips.  The adult IWG are close by, but these IWG Baby Cubs are already pretty tough and can take on most unarmed full grown humans without fear.  Happily mesmerized by their campfire, Ares and Ginga are roasting human eyeballs in lieu of marshmallows.

Secret Agent Titus features a silhouette of Titus in Secret Agent mode on a 1950's style color block ground.  Stylistic with strong colors, the expression on Titus' face is captured clearly leaving the viewer not shaken, but perhaps slightly stirred.
